Morning everyone,

Suppose to be a little warmer here in Derry today.  It is 21 heading up to 37 today ... with snow tomorrow and Thursday, but no where as much as south of us.

I work the day and come home exhausted.  Sit and relax some with the dogs then need a nap.  TG DH cooks dinner or I would be too tired to make anything.

On a sad note, we may be saying bye to our Astraea today.  We have an appointment with the Vet at 4pm.  She is old, but I will miss her.

Hope everyone has a better Tuesday then me.

Poor Astraea, poor you.  It's good of you to make her passing easier.  Too many people hold on to their beloved pets and they suffer needlessly.

Ten degrees warmer today, but another cold front coming through on Thursday.  I don't think my feet will ever be warm again.  I may start knitting summer booties.

I know it'll be warm again someday, but you are right Margaret - my feet feel as though they'll never get warm (especially with just houseshoes on).

Our deadbeat tenant moved out Sunday - we caught him trying to sneak all his stuff out early Sunday (we were heading out to meet someone for lunch) and followed him to a storage center and asked what was going on. He hasn't even been back to get the rest of his junk ("stuff" would be a promotion), including piles of clothes stuffed three feet deep in a closet. The power is still on, so I stopped last night to check to see if the heat was still on - they had left a kitten inside with no food or water. So, it looks like we now have three; this one is younger than the other two (maybe three months old), a part siamese calico that is either growling at the other two (and all three dogs) or sitting as near to me as she can. If you put down canned food, she keeps gulping it until she is in danger of popping, but seems to be able to control herself better with dry food. Rumor is they have left another cat there as well, but outside (no idea what they did with their dog, as it was gone).

Good morning. I'm off in a few minutes to foolishly join the mob I anticipate at Denny's for a free grand slam. My dad went for his just after 6 this morning and found a huge crowd with a lot of high school kids. I'm hoping it's too late for breakfast, too early for lunch, and won't be so crowded. I hope everyone has a good day and those of our group that have room for health improvement see rapid improvement.

I'm wearing heavy socks with fuzzy slippers and they're still cold.  I shouldn't complain.  Temps here are way above yours.

Aw, poor kitty.  At least she has a good home.

For a minute, I thought you said IHOP, because I had IHOP on the brain today.  I was going to say it's a good thing I changed my mind about going there this morning.  But since it was Denny's and we don't have a Denny's here, I'm safe anyway.

Hope you get your free breakfast.

No free breakfast here and it's spitting snow again (at least we should not get the big snowstorm predicted further north).  The new kitty is trying to bluff all the bigger critters with her fierceness. So far, two dogs ignore her, one gets excited (hey, a squeaky toy that spits back!) and has to be told to play nicer pretty much constantly and the two cats only worked their way back to sitting with me tonight (she had been dominating the spot and would not let them up).  When my mother called earlier today, she thought I was the vet's office, with all the barking and her spitting/growling in the background. Looks like she'll be ok, although a lack of regular food before can be seen in her bowel movements so far and her difficulty in jumping and climbing - she's just skin and bones, but gulps down any canned food put down in front of her (and what she can steal from the bigger cats, as well).

Good morning,

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

Tuesday was not good for me ... I'll share more later in another area.

It's 28 here in Derry heading up to 34 with snow on its way.  We are not suppose to be hit like south of us.  Washington, DC canceled so many flights, even our airport --- Manchester, canceled some because of where flights are coming from and going to.

Going off to school.  Glad snow is not an issue for us today.

57 here this morning, which wouldn't be so bad, but there's a very damp, chilly wind blowing. Stupidly walked across the damp grass this morning to my Mom's because of said damp, chilly wind, and my shoes got soaked.  Now my feet are icy again.

Taking my cousin out to look at properties today.  Things to do for my book club. TKD with GS tonight.  So it's another full day.  Thank goodness I don't have to cook.  I have enough meatloaf in the freezer for everyone.

It is sunny and pretty today and 42 headed for 51. It's supposed to get rainy by tonight. Even at the off hour the crowd was insane so I abandoned the Denny's plan. I'll try to go on my birthday when most of America won't be competing. I'm off to my dad's today so it will be a good day. I hope you guys having "opportunities" will quickly improve and quit having so many of your opportunities and that everyone else has a great day too.

25 here and still spitting snow. Just as the new kitten is still spitting and growling at the older kittens, it isn't really serious about it. She lost the battle of the lap last night, then the battle for the bed. So far, only in the battle of the food is she serious enough that she is winning (it helps that they don't care, as we never feed them canned food and have dry food out all the time).  As a result of her posturing, though, no on will play with her this morning, so she is having to chase her own tail and herself over the furniture, rather than joining in the game of tag the other two have every morning.

Stay warm,
Karen

It is a chilly morning with a steady slow rain. I like hearing it running off the the roof. It's going to be a comfortable stay inside day. I hope everyone is doing well and has a good day.

31 and overcast here. The snow never did anything but swirl around, but those farther north, south and east got enough to cancel and delay schools (all of which directions involve bigger mountains that our ridge). The forecast for the next week is more of the same - highs in the 30's, lows in the 20's and probably more snow this weekend.
